Has released new Windows and Mac software drivers for the I∙ONIX series of desktop recording interfaces. With the new 64-bit Windows driver, these interfaces now operate seamlessly on computers running Windows 64-bit XP and Vista operating systems. The new Mac driver improves performance and now supports all Mac computers operating on OS X 10.4.9 or higher regardless of whether they are based on a PowerPC or Intel processor. The I∙ONIX Series features newly designed dbx microphone preamps on all analog inputs. The preamps are driven by a 60-volt high-voltage supply to guarantee stability and deliver superior recordings across a wide dynamic range.
Ultra high definition converters ensure pristine 24-bit/96kHz audio. The result is remarkably clear and transparent inputs. Each of the three I∙ONIX models allows for a different level of recording capability. The U22 can record two channels simultaneously and includes two analog mic/line inputs with +48-volt phantom power, two balanced line outputs, a Hi-Z instrument input, a ¼-inch high-power headphone output, and MIDI I/O. The U42S records four analog and two digital channels simultaneously, and the U82S can record eight analog and two digital channels. In addition, the U42S and U82S include four and eight mic/line inputs respectively, stereo S/PDIF, two instrument inputs, and two ¼-inch headphone outputs. Each interface is bundled with Cubase LE 4 and the Pantheon II reverb plug-in, providing everything you need to start recording.
Lexicon Director of Marketing Randy Garrett stated, “The new I∙ONIX series provides professional quality hardware and software for musicians to create exceptional recordings. Lexicon is committed to making these great products even better by listening to our customers and making continuous improvements such as the addition of these new drivers.” The newly updated drivers can be downloaded free at.
One question.when i plug in the mic with the XLR in the back, i run it through Logic but it only records the left side (one speaker). This is normal. You need to change the track you are recording to in logic to a mono track. You can do so by clicking the plus next to global tracks to create a new track, select audio track and select mono. Then make sure you select input 1 OR 2 as audio input in that same window.

(stereo would use 1&2 but the lexicon only gives input on one of these for the mic source) Left should be on channel 1 if I'm not mistaken, so you need to select input 1 for recording on the mono track. You can also change an existing track to mono by going to the mixer, and clicking on the button that looks like two overlapping circles right below the level meter. It changes to a single circle to indicate mono. You can change it back by clicking again if you want to.
Hope this helps! Again, feel free to ask if you have any other questions!
